ABS-CBN STATEMENT IN REACTION TO GMA-7 FILING OF CIVIL CASE

We are disappointed but not surprised by GMA-7's reactions to the discovery of TV ratings manipulation. It appears that they want to prevent the media from mentioning GMA 7 in connection with cheating in the ratings .

AGB-Nielsen Media Research General Manager Maya Reforma identified GMA-7 as the broadcast network behind the efforts that compromised panel homes in Bacolod.

Furthermore, in Reforma’s affidavit submitted to the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, she admitted that GMA-7 was involved in “tampering” with the panel homes and that "79 of the 532 homes interviewed from the 6 cities were confirmed by panel homes to have been exposed to efforts by GMA."

Let’s remember that the issue here is about having a clean TV ratings process, the reason we filed a civil case against AGB-Nielsen Media Research. Filing defamation charges against ABS-CBN diverts attention from the real issue. We are confident that the truth will come out.

We are waiting for a formal copy of GMA-7’s complaint so our lawyers can evaluate its merits.

GMA files action suit against ABS-CBN

Nagsampa ng 15 M action suit ang Kapuso Station laban sa ABS-CBN kaugnay sa isyu ng tv rating. Kabilang sa mga nasampahan ng kaso ay sina Angelo Palmones, Station Manager ng DZMM, Alona Magsalas, News Manager ng DZMM, at ang DZMM reporter na si Junrie Hidalgo; kasama rin sina Jobert Sucaldito, Cristy Fermin, Luchi Cruz Valdez, Boyet Agustin, at Korina Sanchez ng Bandila; Malou Santos, Luis Andrada, Lani Gutierrez, Romel Gonzales, Nancy Yabut at Ian Reyno ng The Buzz at Entertainment Live at kasama rin ang ABS-CBN head of legal department Atty. Maximillan Uy.

After GMA 7 released their statement on the alleged TV Ratings tampering and their filling libel case against ABS-CBN. The Kapamilya Network released its official statement last night during MMK schedule and aired it again this afternoon Wowowee and in Entertainment Live.

AGB Nielsen releases TV Ratings despite of TRO

Despite of 20 days TRO ordered by Quezon City court, naglabas ng TV ratings ang AGB Nielsen noong Friday maliban lang sa mga lugar na napabalitaan na nagkaroon ng tampering. At ngayon pinasasampahan ng ABS-CBN ng kasong contempt ang AGB dahil sa paglabas nito ng TV ratings na sa una pa lang ay may TRO na ng 20 days o tatlong linggo na hindi maglalabas ang tv rating measurement ang nasabing kumpanya. Pero ang depensa ng AGB tanging ang mga lugar lamang ng may tampering ang siyang pinapahold ng korte. Ayon naman kay Vivian Tin ay di pa dapat ito inilalabas dahil hindi pa nila (AGB) natatapos ang investigation sa tampering. Nabahala naman ang mga advertiser sa anomalyang naganap sa tv ratings na kung saan ito ang bibliya ng mga advertisers kung saan nila ipapasok ang kanilang mga produkto.

As Press time, ayon kay Maya Reforma ng AGB Nielsen na all allegations pertains to GMA 7, while there's a clamor that GMA 7 is planning to file libel case against ABS-CBN and DZMM ito ay dahil sa tahasang pagtukoy ng isang reporter ng DZMM na ang GMA 7 ay sangkot sa elegasyong suhulan sa Bacolod pero ito ay dinepensahan naman ni Atty. Maxim Uy na ang mismong sa AGB Nielsen na nanggaling ang impormasyong ito at hindi sa Kapamilya Channel.
