Sex and the City addicts will be seeing again the glamorous writer Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), the liberated publicist Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), the edgy lawyer Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and the idealistic wife Charlotte York-Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) again on the second installment of Sex and the City movie. From the glam and sparkles of New York the four ladies will be traveling to the romantic and warm dessert of Abu Dhabi making them realize and discover to appreciate things more compare what they had left in the Big Apple.
We often think that Sex and the City is a TV Series talking about women and their escapades but in fact it talks about how women seeks for solution in connection for their relationship, that is the role of Carrie in the film, and it was shown clearly in the movie. Sex and the City 2 is filled with metaphors that represents their relationships, personality and hopes. New York represents the complicated life of the four girls and Abu Dhabi represents the space they all wanted to have in their lives, for soul searching and appreciating what they really wanted. The characters introduced in Abu Dhabi represents specific things that lacks in their lives making them realize how important to appreciate small things that is sometimes more important than we expected.
Sorry for the spoiler but I love the most is the confrontation of the Carrie’s group with the women of Abu Dhabi. Who ever conceptualize that part well it answers the racist rumors that was thrown to the film. Again Sex and the City 2 in my opinion is not a women liberation movie, it’s about relationship to their husband, children, family and themselves.
