Like the usual buddy cop film partners have opposite character but definitely compliments to each other. Jimmy Monroe and Paul Hodges (Willis and Morgan) are veteran cops who were suspended after not fulfilling the assignment given to them. Jimmy is having problem on where to get money for her daughter’s money while Paul is in the dilemma thinking that her wife is cheating on him. Jimmy tries to sell his treasured baseball card when Dave (Scott) and his gang snatches it and sold it to Raul (Juan Carlos HernĆ”ndez) for drugs. Jimmy didn’t give up and chase Dave and end up meeting Raul agrees with his proposal to look for his vintage car in exchange with the baseball card. Jimmy and Paul retrieve the car and discovered Gabriela (Ana de la Reguera) at the car’s trunk and she possessed the flash drive necklace that Raul needs that connects the biggest drug group in Mexico. And things begin to complicate.
It’s hilarious, funny and Willis and Morgan compliments to each other seeing a strong serious character like Jimmy and how it interacts with the big funny and ill-tempered character of Paul. The film is a total disaster on a good way it’s just watching Die Hard but lighter and comical. Disaster in the sense that its production is somewhat on the action side but how the writers inserts sarcasm and fun it’s brilliant and worth watching of those who just wanted to relax and have some fun.
Cop Out also includes Rashida Jones, Adam Brody, Kevin Pollak, Jason Lee, Michelle Trachtenberg and Jim Norto. The film opens on March 3 in all cinemas and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
