Another online marketplace emerges into the cyberspace to give opportunities to businessman and online entrepreneurs. Redpages.ph according to the Creative Online Media Inc. Chief Executive Officer Dennis Ng, the person behind the new online marketplace he saw the opportunity in the services sector by providing a platform for doing business. The website allows small and medium enterprises to sell their products and look for suppliers through the internet.

Now Redpages.ph is working its way in the competing arena as one of the leading and growing online marketplace in the Philippines. “Purchasers need not scan the telephone directory and call each one of them for quotations. All a purchaser has to do is tap the redpages.ph for these needs at the least cost,” Ng said. He claims that there are already 17,000 pre-listed companies in the website. The SMEs are entitled to feature up to five products. Each company can upload products, photos and company profile, and for other company they upgrade their platforms by paying P8,888 annual fee. “The annual payment is but just peanuts compared to the countless opportunities they can avail through the redpages.ph,” Ng said.

Users can view mini-webpages and listings in over 30 industry categories and nearly 350 product categories from agriculture to funerals and so much more and with 1,005 design templates to choose from to suit a particular company’s business while companies who signs for premium (upgraded) account will be given an specific designed website according to their specs.

Creative Online has engaged the services of Dun & Bradstreet, a US-based company that provides international and US business credit information and credit reports, for the authentication process, which is done on an annual basis. “Our primary objectives are to promote e-commerce within the Philippines and utilize the internet to link businesses with international buyers, vendors, trade facilitation bodies and government institutions. We hope to enable Filipino businesses to create a place for themselves in the e-world and get their share out of this fast growing trade channel,” said Ng.

The company is also engaged in search engine optimization by continually updating Yahoo and Google of their listed companies so that searches would automatically redirect to the redpages.ph website and put their companies on top the list.

Ng could only dream that they would someday become the Alibaba of the Philippines, but who knows? Alibaba provides B2B for Chinese firms with an estimated listing of 4 million now although China has 30 million SMEs.

SMILDS.com introduces escrow payment system

For online shoppers like me it is important for us to be protected from sellers who cannot deliver what we ordered. I am once a victim of that kind of scene where I bought something online but my product is not similar on what I ordered. But recently I discovered SMILDS.com a platform created by platform4u.com that will strengthen business relationship between the sellers and the buyers on a Business-to-Business-to-Consumer-to-Consumer (B2B2C2C) platform where both sides benefits.

With the escrow payment system, SMILDS.com will pay the sellers on a 7-day time frame where the buyers is contented with the product he or she purchased. Aside from the escrow there is also a system in SMILDS.com that allow the sellers to post the number of items on their stocks so that it will help the buyers to know how many remaining are left in the items they are planning to purchase.

Aside from the buyers benefit, SMILDS.com also gives perks to the sellers where there are two options on how a seller can earn a lot with the website:

1.
Be a seller – you can sell on SMILDS.com with you products.
2.
Be a re-seller – you can re-sell or promote the products on SMILDS.com on your page like I am doing on my SMILDS.com page flowgalindez.smilds.com and you will earn by 10% of what the seller earns when the buyers bought though your page.
The system is not complicated, it will be easy for the non-technical sellers.

Joining the website is free but for those who wanted to boost their selling strategies, Smilds.com service cost 25,000 pesos on a starting kit, it may sound costly but with the amount that you’re going to pay with SMILDS will benefit you much. The starter kit will let you upload fifty photos and personalize you’re page by putting your logo, embed videos, have your own banner ads additional set-up, logistics, and technical requirements that the group will give you.

Unlike other online shops, SMILDS.com is linked to LBC and has more that two payment system like paypal and credit card, SMILDS has Smart Money, Globe G-cash, and ATM/ Debit cards.

Buying and selling online easier with OLX

I love shopping and buying things pero ang problem not all that I want can be seen on one store or in one mall and I end up frustrated dahil na rin sa pagod sa pagpunta sa mall kasama na rin ang hindi ko nabili ang gusto ko. That’s the reason why I fancy online shopping on OLX for three reasons; first the products are organized, where you can see the categories on the front door of the website, less the hassle of searching and more time for shopping, for example if you want to buy electronics and other computer accessories its located on for sale column. Second you can personalize your search by locations both metro manila and provincial, for example if you want to see sellers on Manila it will prompt you to Services Manila that contains sellers with their products this is to lessen the cost on shipping where buyers can actually meet with sellers. And lastly OLX gives you the option to subscribe to their email alerts for newly posted classified ads and you can also browse products and services via mobile (m.olx.ph) especially for people who are always on the go.
While exploring the website, OLX offers free classified ads posting where it will be a big help to the sellers who wants to sell their products without paying posting fee. Uploading your products or services on OLX is easy, you can personalize your posting by location, and it will require you to follow categories on where to include your products for easier search ng mga prospect buyers, and the last part is to fill in the form where you need to give the description of your product, contact info that your buyers need to communicate with you and the picture of your product, after that you can published your classified ads and ready to sell online.

OLX is a big help for those buyers like me who want to lessen the hassle on going to malls and end up frustrated because we fail to buy the product we want because its out of stock or not available on that mall. And for sellers online who wanted to personalize their selling to their prospect buyers.
