Maligayang Pasko na Puno ng Pag-Asa sa Lahat!

Pasko – ito ang araw na bukod sa mga kaarawan natin ay siyang nagpapangiti sa atin kahit minsan puno tayo ng kalungkutan o alalahanin sa buhay. Ang Pasko ay nag papaalala sa atin na minsan sa dilim n gating buhay at suliranin ay may pag-asa pa. Tulad iyan ng isang batang laging nakatuon sa ilalim ng Christmas Tree at iniintay kung anong oras niya bubuksan ang regala, umaasa na sana iyon ang pinapangarap niyang damit o laruan. Kagaya rin ito ng batang nakatanghod sa hapag kaininan nagnanais makatikim na ng paborito niyang spaghetti o fried chicken.

Mga simpleng kaligayahan ng mga batang puno ng pag asang nakikita natin lagi tuwing Pasko. Tatanggapin kung ano man ang ibigay sa kanila at susuklian ng ngiti, sayaw, yakap at halik. Minsan sa buhay natin ngayong tayo ay matatanda na, minsan hindi na tayo nakuntento kung ano man meron tayo at nakukuha natin. Minsan ang Pasko para sa iilan ay isang magarang handaan, na may mamahaling gamit at regalo, minsan nawawala na sa atin ang tunay na halaga ng Pasko. Minsan nalilimutan na natin ang diwa nito at napapalitan ng napakaraming kumplikado sa buhay.

Sana alalahanin natin na minsan ay may isinilang na hari at tagapagligtas sa isang simpleng sabsaban. Walang kayamanan, walang karangyahan, kundi isang simpleng tao lamang. Ito ang nalilimutan na natin, ang simpleng diwa ng Pasko, ang kapiling ang mga minamahal at nabubuhay na masaya, at ipagdiwang ang araw ng kapanganakan ng Tagapagligtas.

Nawa’y sagana man o tuyot ang handaan natin sa Pasko, ang tanging hiling ko lang ay manatiling buo, masaya at nag kakaisa ang bawat pamilya. At ang diwa ng Pasko na pag-ibig, pag-asa at pakikipagkapwa tao ay mamalagi sa bawat puso natin lahat.

Mapagpalang Pasko sa lahat lalo na sa mga Pinoy saan parte ng mundo!

Join the World Vision Philippines’ Noche Buena Caravan!

Based from the United Nation’s report on the Millennium Development Goals people living in extreme poverty line only have $1.25 or roughly P50 as their daily budget. Most of them could not afford to go to school, doesn’t have decent work and shelter to support their family. World Vision is one of the organizations who is standing up to bring the children go to school through the help of volunteers and donations from the supporters.

World Vision Philippines launched Noche Buena Caravan in line with the celebration of Christmas. The main goal of this campaign is to share the joy and spirit of Christmas to our less fortunate “kababayans” who cannot afford a bountiful Noche Buena feast. With that campaign, World Vision encouraged everyone to donate P1, 000 which is equivalent to 2 Noche Buena packages that will be given to two families. This year, WVP targets 34, 000 families in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao especially in regions like Baseco, Malabon, Cavite, Isabela, Zambales, Cebu, Aklan, Antique, Leyte, Missamis Occidental, and Palawan. Supporters has the liberty to choose which province or region where their donations to be given. ‘

Each Noche Buena package contains; spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, a can of fruit salad, a carton of cream, a bottle of sandwich spread, cheese, a pack of milk, coffee, and powdered juice. Portion of the donations will be given to the community budget for them to hold a Christmas Party. For World Vision Child Sponsors, they will be given an option with their P1, 000 donations as one (1) Noche Buena gift pack, and a special gift for your “child” or simply default to 2 Noche Buena baskets.

Join the Miracle Machine and Make Miracles Happen

Kraft Food Philippines maker of Miracle Whip gives everyone to celebrate Christmas meaningful not only for ourselves but also to those who are in need. Kraft launched a campaign entitled Miracle Machine which aims to reach out to groups and individuals in the internet and take part to the spirit of gift giving on Christmas and Bayanihan.

Miracle Machine is a social network application found in Facebook, where everyone has the chance to help the less fortunate more than just posting statuses on the site. In line with Christmas, Miracle Whip wishes to fulfill 12 wishes in 12 days as part of the phase 1 of the Miracle Machine project. There are 11 charities and organizations which is presented in the Miracle Machine which everyone can choose to where they wanted to send their donations.

Here are the 11 organizations and the dates where they will be launched at the Miracle Machine:

December 1 - Kythe Foundation hopes to help Angelalyn Magalano, a 13-year-old angel who suffers from Nephoric Syndrome and psoriasis by making her wish come true of meeting a pilot and talk about flying.

December 2 - Jamboree Mountaineers hopes to make the indigenous tribes’ Christmas in Wawa, Montalban merrier by trekking there and delivering food for Noche Buena.

December 3 - Childhope Asia hopes to keep street children warm this Yuletide Season by providing them with new underwear and clothes.

December 4 - Kaeskwela hopes to fill the empty libraries of public schools in far-flung areas in the country with educational books.

December 5 - The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) hopes to find abandoned dogs and cats new families to take them in by making them adoption-ready through grooming.


December 6 - Sagip Buhay and Philippine General Hospital hopes to provide medical assistance for those who don’t have the means and access to proper healthcare with new blood pressure devices and Thermoscan thermometers.


December 7 - Firefly Brigade and Tiklop Society hopes to collect 10 bikes and bike safety gear for people in urban communities to help them get from one place to another faster and safer so they can be more productive in their work.

December 8 - Tahanang Walang Hagdan hopes to give back to the 326 volunteers who have selflessly devoted their time to the organization by giving them gifts this Christmas.

December 9 - Resources for the Blind hopes to record an audio storybook for blind children to bring them to the world of wonder and imagination.

December 10 - Museo Pambata hopes to make 2, 000 children happy this Season of Giving by gifting them with pre-loved storybooks and toys.

December 11 - St. Martin de Porres Charity Home hopes to spread holiday cheer with a potluck party for the underprivileged kids under its care.

On the 12th day of December, a fully functional miracle conduit will be made available to organizations that need it and people with something to give. But the miracles and the efforts doesn’t end on the 12th day. The Miracle Machine will continue its campaign and will expanding its reach to other organizations that are in need for donations and volunteers. Coca Cola celebrates Christmas with the “Shake-up Christmas” campaign

 In line with long celebration of Christmas in the Philippines, Coca Cola launches their global campaign entitle Shake-up Christmas where it shows Santa Claus holding a Christmas globe while drinking Coke. Inside the Christmas globe were different person enjoying Christmas with their family, friends and special someone and of course Coca Cola who is present in all occasions especially the Yuletide Season. In the Philippine version of the campaign is Coca Cola brand ambassador Kim Chiu and Enchong Dee who is sitting a bench and after Santa Claus titled the globe, Kim slides near to Enchong and they end up kissing each other in the TV plug. As for Momoy Palaboy, they had a funny version of the commercial where like Kim and Enchong who were sliding in the bench, both of them tries to avoid each other and after drinking Coca Cola they create a Brrrr sound which is part of their original Coke commercial.

Coca Cola also lighted the Coke Christmas tree located in the Araneta Cubao in front of the Gateway Mall. With all the artists from ABS-CBN and GMA, and the Mayor of Quezon City with Ms. Universe 2010 4th Runner Up Venus Raj switched on the Christmas tree with Coca Cola Christmas balls in it. The Coca Cola Christmas tree commemorates the years of memorable Christmas with family, friends and special someone where Coke plays a very important role during the delicious feast.

In line with the Christmas Campaign of Coca Cola is that they will be bringing back the contour glasses. It glasses corresponds with the 2 caps or crowns of Coca Cola Products with Santa image and 1 cap or crown that has free glass inside it. ABS-CBN launches 2010 Christmas Station ID on November 4 with theme song Ngayong Pasko, Magniningning ang Pilipino

ABS-CBN formally jumpstarts its Christmas campaign with President Noynoy Aquino as the guest of honor in the blessing and dedication of the ELJ Communications Center and the launch of its Christmas campaign with a station ID to be aired during “TV Patrol” on Nov 4 (Thurs).

Coming from last year’s phenomenal and award-winning “Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko,” ABS-CBN newest station music video dubbed as “Ngayong Pasko, Magniningning ang Pilipino” will once again kindle the light of unity and honor Filipinos’ commitment to change.

On the same day, ABS-CBN executives, employees, and guests from the government, private sector, and the media will celebrate the 82nd birth anniversary of its late chairman Geny “Kapitan” Lopez and recognize the winners in this year’s Bayaning Pilipino Awards.

Other activities lined-up for the Christmas campaign this year will include the Kapamilya Simbang Gabi, the selling of the Kapamilya Parol, holding of Christmas bazaars, staging of Christmas special at the Araneta Coliseum, and launching viewers text promo.

This year, ABS-CBN is making the Kapamilya Parol as a symbol of this commitment and will stand as a pledge for our individual share in bringing about change in our lives, our families, our nation.

Supported by 200 of the biggest and the brightest Kapamilyas from the different platforms of ABS-CBN – Entertainment, News and Current Affairs, ANC, DZMM and Tambayan 101.9, and the Regional Network Group— the music video involved in entertaining and giving service to the public.

Noontime talent show “Showtime” staged a real live event for the benefit of the madlang people at the Escopa II, Project 4, Quezon City. Led by “Showtime” barkada Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Kim Atienza, Jugs and Teddy, and Vice Ganda, they gave away gifts to lucky madlang people who showed their ‘samples’ or talents alongside winning performances from XB Gen San, Philippine Islands Assassins, and Unlimited Boys. The A Pop Young and the Gigger Boys served as judges.

Meanwhile, patients at the Perpetual Succor Hospital in Sampaloc, Manila were recipients of ABS-CBN Foundation gift packs of school supplies, DVDs of ABS-CBN Foundation shows, and Bayanijuan t-shirts given out by Kapamilya stars Piolo Pascual, Gretchen Barretto and the hosts of “Pilipinas Win na Win” Rico J. Puno, Marco Sison, Rey Valera,Nonoy Zuñiga, Valerie Concepcion, Gee Canlas and Janelle Jamer.

ABS-CBN also dedicates this year’s Christmas Station ID to all those who continue to bring pride and honor to our country with their world-class talents and skills, like Journey frontman Arnel Pineda and international pop star Charice.

The theme song “Ngayong Pasko, Magniningning ang Pilipino” sung by Gary Valenciano and Toni Gonzaga, features the University of Santo Tomas Singers conducted by Prof. Fidel G. Calalang Jr. This year alone, the world-renowned group won 10 grand prizes from musical competitions in Poland, Spain and Northern Ireland, including the Choir of the World – Luciano Pavarotti Trophy at the 63rd Llangollen International Music Festival in Wales, UK.

Fresh from Brazil, the Philippine Homeless World Cup team, led by sports legends Coach Rudy Del Rosario and Coach Elmer Bedia, won 8 out of 11 games and brought home the Host Cup. They bonded on the field with Derek Ramsay, Ejay Falcon, Marc Nelson, Dyan Castillejo and Martin Nievera.

The song was written by Jordan Constantino, with music by Lloyd Corpuz, arranged and produced by Eric Perlas. A remixed version by Gab Valenciano will be released by Star Records.

The 2010 Christmas SID was created by ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management headed by Robert Labayen, Ira Zabat,  Johnny de los Santos, Patrick De Leon with the SID team, Edsel Misenas, Dang Baldonado, and Kathrina Sanchez. It is directed by Paolo Ramos. Woman attacks Pope Benedict XVI during the Xmas Eve Mass

A woman on red hooded shirt attacks Pope Benedict XVI during the Christmas Eve Mass at the Vatican City. The said incident occurs during the procession of the Pope when the woman wearing a red hooded shirt jumped on the rail and knocks out the Pope. The spokesperson of the Vatican that the Pope was unhurt and the Christmas Mass continue and the woman who was mentally unstable was arrested by the Vatican police.

Blessed Christmas and strong faith to all!

Sa kabila ng unos na dinadanas ng Pilipinas ay patuloy pa rin tayo tumatayo at nagpapatuloy ng kani-kaniyang buhay. Ito ang meron ang mga Filipino na wala ang pagiging matatag at malakas ang pananampalataya. Ito ang ang nakita ko sa huling araw ng Misa De Gallo na pinuntahan ko sa San Guillermo Chuch sa Bacolor Pampanga. Nakilala natin ang simbahang ito sa primetime drama ng ABS-CBN na May Bukas Pa at kay Santino, pero may mas malalim pang istorya ang simbahang ito dahil isa ito sa mga lumubog sa lahar noong pumutok ang Mt. Pinatubo na kung saan almost kalahati ng taas ng simbahan ang nabaon sa lahar kasama ang cemetery sa likod nito.
Pero sa kabila nito tulad ng napakaraming kalamidad at pagsubok na dumating sa buhay nating lahat ay patuloy tayong tumatayo at iyon ang pinakamalaking himalang nagaganap sa buhay nating lahat. We should be thankful sa araw araw na pag gising natin sa umaga at ang patuloy nating pag hinga. Ito ang nakita ko sa mga pag iikot ko kasama ang mga iba't ibang grupo. Nawa'y ang aral sa sabsaban at ang imahe ng batang Jesus na dumating sa mundo sa simple ay magpaalaala sa atin na hindi kailangang maging magara ang handa natin, mamahaling kasuotan at mg dekorasyon, kundi ang panatilihing simple at masaya ang araw ng Pasko.

Celebrating Christmas with Kraft Eden Cheese

Hindi mawawala ang cheese sa lutuing Pinoy lalo na sa panahon ng Pasko at Bagong Taon. This year Kraft Eden Cheese gives thousand reasons to celebrate Christmas after attempting the Guinness World Record on the biggest number of cheese cooked on a day which happen last December 14 at the Araneta Coliseum where chefs from different areas of the country participates to create a new world record of 5, 000 dishes cooked with cheese.

This year aside from the world record that Kraft Eden is targeting, with Geisler Maclang and bloggers sa pangunguna ni Janet Toral, Alex Tacderas, Category Marketing Manager for Cheese and Spoon tables of Kraft Food Philippines comes with the concept 9 Days of Cheese-mas with Keso de Gallo. The campaign started last December 16 sa unang araw ng simbang gabi and concluded on the last day of Misa de Gallo on December 19. Kraft Eden Cheese visited 9 different towns including Bacolod, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu City, Naga, Butuan City, Laog and the last leg of the 9 Keso de Gallo event in the San Guillermo Church in Bacolor Pampanga, the church that was made popular by ABS-CBN's leading primetime show May Bukas Pa.

According to Sir Alex, they wanted to retain the Filipino values on how they look toward Christmas and that is filled with faith and hope which manifest during the 9 mornings of Misa De Gallo. They wanted strengthen this value despite of the storms that the Filipino faces. During the Misa De Gallo, nagtayo ng booth ang Kraft Eden na kung saan pagkatapos ng misa they invite the families to partake sa simpleng salo salo with an Eden Cheese made product/dish with a warm chocolate drink isang simpleng salo salo but it shows how important sharing is that brings smile to every Filipino who joins the Keso de Gallo campaign.The idea of Keso de Gallo of the Kraft Eden Cheese project shows that despite of the recession that the country is facing it should hinder us with the values of being a Filipino which is pagbibigayan at kabutihan sa kapwa the same theme that Misa de Gallo has and that is sharing the love and blessings of God to others.

Invited bloggers who went all the way to Pampanga witness the conclusion of the Keso de Gallo and even tasted Pampanga's squash puto, one of the 9 dishes that is made of vegetable na sinamahan ng Kraft Eden Cheese to make it creamier and tastier. Here is the recipe of Squash Puto that was served in San Guillermo Church in Pampanga.

Squash Puto (Pampanga) Ingredients:

2 1/4 cup squash, cooked and mashed
3 1/4 cup all purpose flour, sifted
1 1/2 cup washed sugar
4 tbsp baking powder
1 bar Eden Cheese
1/2 cup margarine, melted
1 1/2 cup butter milk
8 pcs. eggs, medium beaten
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 cups water

Procedure

1. Combine all dry ingredients together
2. Make a well at the center and add the liquid ingredients
3. Blend until smooth
4. Add smashed squash and grated cheese, mix well
5. Pour mixture in a molder
6. Steam for 45 minutes.
