From Kate & Leopold, Van Helsing, The Prestige, Australia, X-Men and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Hugh Jackman returns to the big screen as Charlie Kenton in DreamWorks Pictures’ Real Steel. The science fiction film directed by Shawn Levy was based from the 1956 short story of Richard Matheson entitled Steel. It will be shown in all cinemas nationwide on October 2011 and to be distributed locally by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.
The film follows the fight of Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Nothing left for him, Charlie struggle to earn for a living by piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. With the help of his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo), they build a robot that can contend for the championship.
Real Steel will be opening in October in all theaters nationwide and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.
