John Bamboo: An Indonesian inspired restaurant in Nuvali

From the group that conceptualizes Red Crab, Heaven n' Eggs and Claw Daddy introduces another restaurant that serves dishes that is new to the diners in Nuvali but something they will never forget. I'm referring to John Bamboo, an Indonesian inspired restaurant that serves Indonesian dishes that is unique and unforgettable. I had the chance to try some dishes of John Bamboo and I'm telling you that they way dishes were presented it is very mouth watering and appealing to the eyes.

Join the Bull Runner Dream Marathon in Nuvali on March 20!

Jaymie, the person behind the website The Bull Runner launches The Bull Runner (TBR) Dream Marathon that encourages first and second time marathoners to continue their dreams to fulfill their ultimate marathon goal. Now in its second year TBR Dream Marathon remains different from other running events where instead of tagging itself as a competitive race it promotes the fun and joy especially the health benefits of running and inspire all runners to dream big and achieve the impossible in their lives.

The Bull Runner (TBR) Dream Marathon will happen in Nuvali in Sta. Rosa Laguna on March 20, and only first 400 first and second timers will be accommodated to join the marathon. The 42 KM marathon is not an ordinary marathon event instead it provides registered runners with 5 month training and guidance leading up to the race:

Check out Kanin Get It in Nuvali!

From the group who conceptualizes Café Breton and Kanin Club brings another restaurant that offers great food in a very affordable price that all food lovers like me will enjoy. They created a restaurant they called Kanin Get It and it is located in One Evotech Building in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa Laguna.

According to Anna May Estena the marketing person and owner of Kanin Get It, they based their servings and preparations of the dishes according how they serve meals to their family, which means the serving is bigger despite to the affordability of the price. Which honestly I like the idea of having bigger servings and it will not cost me much and believe me, the dishes they serve even it is created for a single-solo serving it can benefit 2-3 persons just add more rice. With some of my blogger friends, we are fortunate to try the best sellers in Kanin Get It.

Among the dishes served, Sizzling Sisig, Daing Trio, and Crispy Boneless Chicken really satisfy my cravings for a home-based cuisine, which I really had enough of fast food meals lately. As for the desserts hands down to the Buko Pandan Salad and the Banana Bites, it is truly comforting especially the bite size buko flesh which is very unusual for me who always “bitin” in buko shreds in common buko pandan. The Banana Bites takes the usual maruya (sliced banana with breading and flour) to higher delicious deserts that the caramelized brown sugar compliments with the smell and taste of sesame seeds in every bite and cooling sweetness of vanilla ice cream.

I was hoping that Kanin Get It, like Kanin Club and Café Briton will open its branches in Quezon City which I do work and other malls so that food lovers like me would enjoy the delectable meals that their restaurant offers. But for now Kanin Get It is located at the One Evotech Building in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa Laguna and it is open from 10am – 10pm daily.

Nuvali Evoliving an Eco-friendly community in Laguna

We are fortunate to enter one of Nuvali residential area which is called Avida Settings. Being true with their core value on environmental sustainability they had designed a house that will use natural air as ventilation and recycled materials as their furniture. Residence in Avida Settings has shared garden that will also established good relationship between neighbors. Also on promoting a healthier life, Nuvali created tree-lined pedestrian that is friendly for sidewalks, runners and bikers that is different in other sidewalks, they created 3 lanes, the inner lane is for buses, the middle lane is for the light cars, and the outer lane is for pedestrians, all lanes has 2-3 trees separating one another.

To lessen the use of cars in Nuvali, they created boat taxi that will bring residence to their destination such as EvoZone and Solenad. The boat taxi will course through the man made river that is now inhabit with Koi fishes, plants and birds that will sustain the cycle of water in the river. Nuvali also recycles water where they has two pipes that will serve 2 kinds of water the clean water that can be used for cooking, drinking, bathing and washing clothes, and the gray water that can be used for cleaning cars and watering the plants.

Aside from the environmental sustainability, Nuvali also promotes social and economic sustainability whereas, they also offer livelihood program for communities around the Nuvali, with the materials that can be recycled they use it for bags, baskets, pillows, carpet materials and even road blocks. All the materials they created will be sold and the community will earn from it.
