Mr. Popper’s Penguin: The Joy of Life usually comes in small packages

20th Century Fox brings a child story adaptation to the big screen entitled Mr. Popper’s Penguin. The film that is based from the 1938 children book written by Richard and Florence Atwater is now currently showing in all cinemas worldwide. It was directed by Mark Waters and starring Jim Carrey as Mr. Tom Popper.

Mr. Popper’s Penguin follows the realization of Tom Popper, a divorced realtor who receives a very weird gift coming from his deceased father. A container that contains a penguin from Antartica surprises him on his doorstep while on his way to negotiate with Mrs. Van Gundy (Angela Lansbury) and award him the Tavern on the Green. The place he plans to buy was the place where his family used to spend their weekends while his father gives him all his gifts from his trip on other countries. But changes begins when five more penguins delivered to him and transformed his place to a nesting ground, which also leads to his reunion with his children and ex-wife.

It is a feel good family movie that is worth watching with your love ones. That is how I describe Mr. Popper’s Penguin. A very inspirational movie that will surely touch the heart of every movie goers who will see it at the same time to have a good laugh because of Jim Carrey’s humor and the penguin of course. It is also a make believe feeling to see penguins in a condominium having those snows and mini playground which will be enjoyed by both kids and kids at heart.

From fun and enjoyment, the movie tells a beautiful story about finding oneself, which everyone is doing it on their soul searching. But with the movie, it reminds us that sometimes great and wonderful things that will truly give us that unconditional happiness and joy comes from those simple, sometimes weird, and often inside us and nothing more. Mr. Popper’s Penguin is a worth watching, worth of time and money and better with friends, family and love ones. It currently showing in all cinemas nationwide and it distributed by 20th Century Fox.
