Joseph & Jaemark’s Family Grill is back!

After its huge success in 1993 as a restaurant near Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City, where its major patrons were celebrities and athletes, Joseph & Jaemark’s Family Grill moved to #5 Sgt. Esguerra Avenue, South Triangle with the same delicious dishes and bigger space. Before its transfer in Quezon City, Joseph & Jaemark’s transferred in other locations after Pasay; Katipunan Avenue, Makati, C-5 Taguig, and Magallanes. It is currently managed by Reggie Mars Food, Inc (Reggie Arceo and Mars Reyes).

Joseph & Jaemark’s newest location can accommodate more than 200 persons; the area is divided in air-conditioned room and alfresco. They still serve their popular dishes and add more to satisfy the demands of their diners. Their Quezon City restaurant is just a few months older and I had the chance to try their bestsellers:

Catfish Salad (P200) - Deep fried Catfish meat over onion and manggo which is perfect for appetizer. I enjoyed the crunchiness of the catfish with the tingling sour-taste of mango.

Stuffed Petchay (P160/6pcs) - Rolled Petchay with tinapa bits inside that compliments with the coco milk and frechness of the petchay. It gives very distinctive after taste.

Grilled Tuna Belly (S-P270, M-P360 and L-P450) - Well marinated Tuna Belly that is so tender perfect with soy sauce with calamansi and chili.

Coco Prawn (P450) - Enjoying Ginataang Hipon in a very unique way with coconut meat and served in coconut shell. It has the fine mixture of salty and sweet, from the cooked coconut milk and the coconut meat.

Bicol Express (P145) - At first, it looks like Pinakbet, an Ilocano dishes where they mixed vegetables with shrimp paste (bagoong alamang) or "bagoong balayan", but it is a more forward version of Bicol Express that contains more vegetables in coconut milk and chili.

BBQ Pork Spareribs (P220) - Its like eating a premium ham but more sauce. I love the sweet-salty taste of the spareribs and the tenderness of the meat that can easily cut with the use of fork.

Crispy Buntot ng Tuna (M-P350, L-P415) - Joseph & Jaemark’s bestseller. It's a healthy alternative to crispy pata which we all know that Tuna is rich with Omega-3 that is good for the heart. It has the crispiness of crispy pata and tenderness of fish in one. Perfect with butter soy sauce to bring out the sweetness of the fish or vinegar-soy sauce to have the crispy pata salty-sour feeling.

(Chicken Balls)

(Almond Jelly - to be offered soon at Joseph & Jaemark’s)

Joseph & Jaemark’s is open for reservations and party events just call 410-TUNA(8862). The good thing with their restaurant is that they offer alternatives to those who wanted to have a break from red meat and enjoy the freshness of the seafood cooked in a very innovative way just like the crispy buntot ng tuna which is one of my favorite in Joseph & Jaemark’s.

Looking forward to comeback with family or friends to enjoy good food that is so very affordable.
