Passion and Attraction scents by Downy


Last August 30, Procter & Gamble (P&G) officially introduces their latest Downy Scent during their media launch at the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati City. With their brilliant perfumers Hector Esquinca and Shingo Ishii who traveled to Grasse, France to look for a perfect scent for the latest Downy Perfume series that will appeal to the Filipina women who uses Downy as fabric conditioner. Both came up with two new Downy scents; Attraction and Passion which they based their search for the new scents through the inspiration from French pastries, fruits, flowers and the beautiful garden of Grasse, France.

Hector Esquinca, the Section Head and Perfumer of P&G in Kobe Technical Center in Japan talks about his creation “Passion by Downy”, one of the latest scents of Downy where he called Sabrina because of the sweetness and vibrant smell. Passion by Downy is a combination of apple blossoms, vanilla scent, mulberry, freesia and cedar wood.

While Shingo Ishii, the Senior Scientist and Perfumer of P&G in Kobe Technical Center in Japan calls his creation “Attraction by Downy” as Sophie because of its fresh and alluring scent of bouquet of flowers. Attraction by Downy is a combination of jasmine, ylang-ylang, iris, mixed with soft musk, tube rose, wood fragrance and with the hint of oriental scent.

According to Grace Chua, Brand Manager of Downy the new Downy Scents has an advanced, touch-activated Perfume Microcapsule (PMC) Technology where it gives the clothes a long lasting fragrance. With the PMC Technology, the perfume oils found in Downy Perfume scents were placed in the microcapsules and deposited in the fabric during the rinse stage. When the fabric was touched or rubbed, these capsules release more fragrance into the air like the usual perfume do. Chua also shares that the scent of Downy depends on how long the clothes was soaked, therefore the longer it was soaked the stronger scent it gives to the fabric.

Passion and Attraction by Downy is now available in all supermarkets and convenient stores nationwide.
