Movie Review: Angelina Jolie’s Salt

Columbia Pictures brings another action thriller film in the big screen beginning July 28 in all cinemas. The movie is directed by Philip Noyce and starring Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, with co-stars Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Daniel Olbrychski and August Diehl.

The film is about a CIA Agent named Evelyn Salt accused to be a Russian spy, in order to clear her name she needs to fight against her team and find who planted the said accusation against her. Salt faced the dilemma of being a patriot or an enemy of the state depending on what path she will be choosing.

Hands down to Angelina Jolie who did a good performance in doing the character of Salt which everyone will agree with me that she has the edge in doing action films like the Bone Collector where she works with Philip Noyce and the film Wanted.

In regards with the storyline, at first it’s confusing due to fast phasing of the scenes that lacks establishment in the film, which usually happen in action thrillers like Salt. It’s confusing but I like it and I enjoyed the patching of the stories and how it molds to a big one. Noyce and his writers Kurt Wimmer and Brian Helgeland did a great job in twisting the story to lead a good climax but honestly I was a bit hanging on the story at the end so I’m crossing my fingers their will be a sequel and wanting to follow the story of Salt.
