AKO ANG SIMULA: SIGAW NG PAGBABAGO
In the coming elections, the fight for the country’s top political positions will take on another level. All players –- from candidates, to watchdogs, to voters—are arming themselves with the power of the new technology.
This Sunday (June 14), log into the brewing cyber-warfare in anticipation of the 2010 elections on “Ako ang Simula: Sigaw ng Pagabago” on ABS-CBN Sunday’s Best.
With more than 35 million Pinoy mobile users, and more than ten million Pinoy internet users, can a campaign using alternative media make or break a president? Already, most presidential wannabes have their own websites and networking sites. Political teams have also organized mobile blasts and campaigns.
But election watchdogs are not far behind in putting up their own sites. Concerned groups and voters have formed movements for change and vigilance.
ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs’ AKO ANG SIMULA takes a look at how the use of new technology will influence voters’ choice of the country’s next leaders, and how it can be used to guard against moves to thwart the holding of clean and honest 2010 elections.
Change is in our hands. With unlimited accessibility to information offered by the new technology, it’s time to choose the change we want.
Don’t miss “Ako ang Simula: Sigaw ng Pagbabago” with ABS-CBN anchors Julius Babao, Atom Araullo, and T.J. Manotoc this Sunday (June 14) on ABS-CBN Sunday’s Best, right after “TV Patrol Linggo.”
