From Mission: Impossible III, Star Trek, Lost, Alias and Fringe, J.J. Abrams directed Super 8, a film produced by Steven Spielberg which stars Joel Courtney, Elle Fanning, AJ Michalka, and Kyle Chandler. The film will be showing in all cinemas nationwide beginning June 10, available in regular and IMAX and distributed internationally by Paramount Pictures and locally United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corporation.
Super 8 is set in 1979 in Ohio where the United States Air Force shuts down a portion of Area 51 and the way to the undisclosed but secure location to ship a material within a large container. But on its way to target location, the train carrying the container accidentally crash on the railroad and witnessed by group of teenagers in the town of Lillian (fictional) while making a movie with a Super 8 mm film camera. Everything happened during the crash was recorded on the camera and in few days mysterious disappearances and unexplained events in the town and the only key to know what caused it is to look inside the camera.
At first, I was expecting it was like the Cloverfield movie that J.J. Abrams produced in 2008, where a monster attacking event happened in New York and it was caught on camera. But Super 8, putting the brilliant mind of Spielberg and Abrams together it creates a blend of mystery like J.J. did in Fringe and adding up a twist of emotions, terrors and visual effects not to mention the sound effects and scoring in the movie.
