Henry Cavill is the new Superman

Burbank, Califonia - Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures officially announced that Henry Cavill the British actor that star in The Count of Monte Cristo and The Tudors will be the new Superman.


The new Superman movie entitled Superman: Man of Steel and it will be shown in cinemas by December 2012. The film will be directed by Zack Snyder. Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.

Before Cavill, actors who did the Superman role includes Kirk Alyn, Dean Cain, Bud Collyer, Tim Daly, Danny Dark, George Newbern, Nolan North, Christopher Reeve, George Reeves, Brandon Routh, Beau Weaver, and Tom Welling.

Cavill is a great choice… his work is The Tudors was substantial, even though it wasn’t scene-stealing. You can see potential, and he has the masculinity and ‘unknown’ quality that you need for Superman.
