Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III takes oath as the 15th President of the Philippines

Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III officially takes his oath as the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines during his Inauguartion at the Quirino Grandstand Luneta with his Vice President Jejomar Binay. Aquino and Binay succeeds the presidency and vice presidency of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who will now working in Congress as a Representative in Pampanga and Noli de Castro who still not sure if he will be returning to his news anchor career.

Aquino and Arroyo arrives in a limousine while Binay is in his colorful BJeep with his family. Aquino took his oath under Supreme Court Associate Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales where the bible he used was the same bible that her mother the late former President Corazon Aquino use during her sworn in. Juan Ponce Enrile, the Senate President officially announces the proclamation of Aquino and Binay.

In his inaugural speech, Aquino states that he will be faithful in serving the country and the Filipino people, being a good son brother and citizen to the country. Aquino says that he never expected that he will be the president of the country but with the support he gets from the people who believes in him is truly the source of his strength. He feels the pain and suffering of the Filipino and he promises that he will be helping to ease for the sake of the country no matter how hard it will be for him. He will be a serving president and not the ruling one where he will give much effort in eradicating all the problems of the country in his term as president. “Walang Corrupt, Walang Mahirap” is Aquino’s motto where he will ensure that his administration will be reaching out to help the Filipino people in fighting corruption. Aquino includes in his speech is about education, tourism, trade, and infrastructures where he will be giving importance. He also promises the transparency of his government in all its transaction. Aquino says that he forgives those who criticize him but those who did wrong to the country he will make sure justice will be served accordingly. He challenges all the Filipino people not give up because the Filipino people are his boss. He will be continuing the footsteps of his parents who are both democratic icons. Aquino’s speech is brilliantly done in Filipino and simple English.

The Aqunio sisters; Kris, Ballsy, Pinky and Vhiel is present at the inauguration of their brother, while Noynoy's girlfriend Shalani Soledad is present to support Aquino. Foreign dignitaries, diplomats, newly elected government officials, Aquino's cabinet secretaries, Liberal Party members, former Presidents Joseph Estrada and Fidel Ramos and VIP are all present in Aquino's oath taking.

Pinay Singing Sensation Charice sings the Philippine National Anthem, and followed by Bayan Ko which was sung by the Madrigal Singers and Kunderama and Bagong Pilipinas, the inaugural themesong of Aquino which was written by Ogie Alcasid and Noel Cabangon and performed by Jed Madela, Ogie Alcasid, Jim Paredes, Mae Paner (also known as Juana Change), Christian Bautista, Cabangon, Gary Valenciano, Nina and Regine Velasquez. The event was hosted by Paner and Paredes.

After the Inaguation of Aquino they will be going to the Malacanang his official residence for 6 years to be followed by his first cabinet meeting. There will be a street party in the Quezon City Circle which will be open to public and both Kapamilya and Kapuso stars will be present on the said event.

It will be a big challenge for Aquino being a son of the two political and democratic icons (Cory and Ninoy Aquino) and facing the deficit left by the Arroyo administration. He will be working with a vice president coming from the rival party, and working with senate and congress where majority coming from the opposing political party including Arroyo, Manny Villar, and Bongbong Marcos and her family; Imelda his mom and Imee her sister. As history unfolds in the Aquino administration it is the opposite of what happen during the 80's where the Marcoses were in the Presidential seat while the Aquino is in the legislative department.

Will Aquino stick with his principles during his campaign? Let time answer that question as Aquino administration begins today.
