Clash of the Titans reaches P47.54-M gross in the Philippines in 2 days

April 5 - Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warner Bros. (F.E.), Inc. the distributor of Clash of the Titans announced that the fill already reaches P47.54-M gross in the Philippines 2 days after its official launch last April 3.

From the reports coming from major cinemas here is the breakdown of the income generated by the movie starring Sam Worthington who plays the role Persaus, a demigod and the film is directed by Louis Leterrier: Trinoma (P2.86-M), SM Mall of Asia (P2.78-M), SM North EDSA (P2.35-M), SM Megamall (P1.87-M), Greenbelt 3 (P1.79-M), SM Cebu (P1.69-M), Glorietta 4 (P1.65-M), Power Plant (P1.42-M), Alabang Town Center (P1.30-M) and Gateway (P1.28-M). Also doing impressive business are Shangri-la (P1.16-M), Eastwood (P1.01-M), Robinson’s Galleria (P943,521), SM Davao (P939,940), Festival Mall (P929,456), Market Market (P914,846), SM Marikina (P892,448), SM Bacolod (P876,925), Greenhill’s (P875,300) and SM Clark (P863,073).

The Greek Mythology inspired film crashes other movies on the ranking just like the Kraken because of the gross it generates P17.47-M in Metro Manila on its first screening despite of the Holy Week, movies includes; 2006’s “Superman Returns” with P16.73-M, and 2009’s “2012” with P17.35-M, while on 3-D Clash of the Titans generates P9. 45-M leading the controversial Alice in Wonderland of Tim Burtin with P3.02 M.

The 2010’s Clash of the Titans is a spin off of the 1981 Clash of the Titan and Alan Dean Foster’s novel with the same title. It tells the adventure of Perseus, a demigod and direct descendant of Zeus who needs to fulfill the oracle given to him and that is to slay the Kraken, where in the 2010 movie it is the creature created by Hades who plans to vanquish Argon because of their upheaval against the Greek gods. Battle of the Titans is still showing in all Cinemas worldwide and best viewed on 3-D IMAX.
