Henry Cavill is the new Superman
Burbank, Califonia - Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures officially announced that Henry Cavill the British actor that star in The Count of Monte Cristo and The Tudors will be the new Superman.
The new Superman movie entitled Superman: Man of Steel and it will be shown in cinemas by December 2012. The film will be directed by Zack Snyder. Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.
Before Cavill, actors who did the Superman role includes Kirk Alyn, Dean Cain, Bud Collyer, Tim Daly, Danny Dark, George Newbern, Nolan North, Christopher Reeve, George Reeves, Brandon Routh, Beau Weaver, and Tom Welling.

Anne Hathaway from Princess Mia to Catwoman
The Princess Diaries and Love and Other Drugs’ Anne Hathaway is now the new Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. The Dark Knight Rises is a Batman movie that stars Christian Bale who will be playing Bruce Wayne/Batman.
The said confirmation was announced by Warner Bros. Pictures today (January 19, US Time) in Burbank California. According to Nolan, director of the film he is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to the story.
Anne Hathaway is the third actress who will be doing the Catwoman role, first was Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992’s Batman Returns and Halle Berry in the 2004 Catwoman film. Hathaway gains her popularity after taking the role of Pricess Mia in Walt Disney’s The Princess Diaries and later takes daring role as Lureen Newsome Twist in Brokeback Mountain, Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada and her latest as Maggie Murdock in Love and Other Drugs.
The Dark Knight Rises is slated for release beginning July 20, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Inception earns P61-M within 2 weeks in the Philippines
In its first week the Christopher Nolan masterpiece earns P22-M gross in its first weekend and another P23.32 M on the second weekend. Unlike other movies who gains big on the first weekend and later settles down slowly at the following weekends Inception remain higher and it’s getting higher as weeks goes by.
“Everyone’s talking about it, and in some cases, arguing over certain points about the story! It has clearly transcended the big screen,” Soliven claims that through curiosity and word of mouth they generate active viewers that after watching the film they freely share their comments and excitement to the show to the other possible viewers.
The cinemas that registered the biggest receipts are SM Mall of Asia (P4.25-M), Trinoma (P4.15-M), SM North EDSA (P3.70-M), Power Plant (P3.25-M), Greenbelt 3 (P2.90-M), Glorietta 4 (P2.76-M), SM Megamall (P2.40-M) and Gateway (P2.37-M). Also earning huge grosses are Theatremall (P1.96-M), Alabang Town Center (P1.83-M), Shang Cineplex (P1.82-M), Robinsons Ermita (P1.68-M), SM Cebu (P1.40-M), Robinsons Galleria (P1.18-M), Festival (P1.06-M), Market! Market! (P889,788), SM San Lazaro (P883,250), SM Marikina (P825,854).
Inception is a science fiction thriller directed, written and produced by Nolan, starring Leonardo DiCarpio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Tom Berenger, Dileep Rao and Michael Caine and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
