On the information drive, Healthway Medical OB-Gyne Dr. Lillian Quismundo and Healthway Marketing Manager Kate Cruz, shares how cervical cancer evolves from an HPV infection along with other contributors like smoking, stress and stress related disorders, dietary factors, hormonal contraception and drugs, and family history of the disease. According to Dr. Quismundo, through vaccination it will protect them from having cervical cancer, and with three shots/dosage it will last for a lifetime. The vaccine is cheap and its available in Healthway Medical and it is provided by GlaxoSmithKline. According to Cruz they can contact Healthway by calling 751-HWAY(4929) for more information about the vaccination and for appointment.
The second part of the event is the dance marathon headed by the G Force's head instructor and choreographer teacher Georcelle Dapat-Sy. Participants will be doing sets of dance steps where those who cannot jive with the moves will be eliminated until there will be only five remaining in the dance floor. Aside from the prizes that awaits the winning participants is to express their passion in dancing and participate on this advocacy to spread awareness on cervical cancer and how to fight it.
