On May 2, 2PM at the Shangri-La Plaza branch of The White Hat, an Italian frozen yogurt store will be supporting the 1999 Ms. Universe 1st Runner-Up Miriam Quiambao’s chosen charity the Real Life Foundation. Every month The White Hat selects a celebrity and helps their charity by giving 50% of the overall purchase of TWH products on a certain span of time in one of its store around the nation. With the help of the celebrity selling the TWH product at the counter it gives the opportunity to increase the sales of the yogurt and favors for the charity. Sometimes the celebrity uses the event to auction their clothes and other stuff to add up to the funds being raised on the event.
The Real Life Foundation is the chosen charity of TWH’s celebrity of the month Miriam Quiambao. The Real Life Foundation is an organization that supports marginalized Filipino youth that needs support in their education that leads them to a proper employment and job and helping them to transform their communities through projects like livelihood and community services. The non-profit, non-government Christian organization was founded by Dr. Joey Castro in 2003 with few LIFE scholarships where it gives assistance to the poor students who cannot afford to finish high school and college and finish a degree. In 2007 it was formally launched as the Real Life Foundation incorporated where it reaches 180 scholars and produced 56 university graduates and still counting.
